ReclaimDesk started as a small idea in the family.
One of our founders noticed a familiar pattern with his 9-year-old nephew: every week it was something new—school water bottles, hats, sports gear, lunch boxes—misplaced at the park, left on a bus, or forgotten after practice. The stress wasn’t just about replacing things; it was the frustration of never knowing whether a lost item could find its way back.
As the “helpful uncle,” he tried the usual fixes—name labels, notes in bags, reminders before leaving—but it still happened. So he started building a simple, practical lost-and-found solution that could actually work in the real world: something easy to use, quick for a good samaritan to act on, and designed with privacy and safety in mind.
That early experiment became ReclaimDesk—made by a small business with a big focus: helping everyday people reunite with what they’ve lost, without making it complicated.
ReclaimDesk stickers use QR codes.
QR code technology is widely used around the world for fast, reliable scanning in everything from manufacturing and logistics to consumer experiences. It was originally developed by DENSO WAVE (part of the broader Denso / Toyota ecosystem) for high-speed tracking use cases, and it has since become a global standard used in many industries.
“QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
ReclaimDesk is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED, Denso Corporation, or Toyota.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the ReclaimDesk website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
ReclaimDesk provides QR sticker products and a platform intended to help owners and finders reconnect and facilitate the return of lost items.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access and for all activity under your account. Please use accurate information and keep your contact details up to date so we can provide the Service effectively.
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes (without limitation):
Where a QR sticker is supplied with SMS functionality, we support the SMS capability through a third-party messaging provider for 1 year from the date of sale of the sticker. After this 1-year period, SMS functionality may be modified, suspended, discontinued, or offered under a separate arrangement , at our discretion and subject to third-party availability.
SMS delivery is not guaranteed. Delivery and availability depend on factors outside our control (including the third-party provider, telecommunications carriers, network conditions, and local regulations). The Service is not intended for emergency communications.
We may rely on third-party services to provide parts of the Service (for example, payment processing and SMS delivery). Your use of those components may also be subject to the third party’s terms and policies. We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party services, but we will take reasonable steps to restore functionality where possible.
Prices and product availability may change from time to time. Payments are processed via our payment provider. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate payment and order information.
Our Returns and Refunds policy forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer guarantees or rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
The Service (including branding, designs, text, and software) is owned by or licensed to ReclaimDesk and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You must not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we aim to provide a reliable Service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the Service will always meet your requirements.
To the extent permitted by law, ReclaimDesk will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue. Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, it is limited to the minimum extent permitted and may (where allowed) be limited to resupplying the service or replacing the goods.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, operations, or legal requirements. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at support@reclaimdesk.net.au.
ReclaimDesk respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect the minimum information needed to operate the service securely and reliably.
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
We use cookies primarily for security and session management. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. On ReclaimDesk, cookies are used to help keep you signed in and to protect your account.
Examples include authentication cookies used to maintain your login session (for example, an HTTP-only authentication token and refresh token). These cookies are designed to be less accessible to scripts in the browser and may use restrictive settings such as SameSite to reduce the risk of certain attacks.
We do not use third-party advertising or marketing cookies to track you across other websites.
In some cases, embedded third-party services (for example, a payment provider used during checkout) may use their own cookies or similar technologies as part of providing secure payment processing. Where this occurs, it is for delivering that service rather than advertising.
To help protect accounts and reduce fraud/abuse, we use device fingerprinting as a security measure. This generates a hashed identifier from a combination of browser and device characteristics (for example: screen settings, timezone, language, and certain browser feature signals). We use this identifier to:
This fingerprint is a security signal; it is not used for advertising and it does not provide us access to your files, photos, contacts, or other content on your device.
We use the information we collect to:
We may use trusted third-party providers to deliver parts of the service (for example, payment processing and SMS delivery where enabled). We aim to only share the information necessary for them to perform the relevant service and to use reputable providers with strong security practices.
We encourage the use of a pseudonym (not a real name) when creating stickers for a person under 18. Any name entered is provided voluntarily and is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. A parent or guardian is responsible for deciding what personal information of a minor is submitted.
If you have privacy questions, contact us at support@reclaimdesk.net.au.
We take payment security seriously. ReclaimDesk uses Stripe’s payment platform to process payments and help protect your card information with industry-standard security practices.
Payments are processed using Stripe’s infrastructure, which is designed to meet strict security standards (including PCI DSS compliance). Where possible, we use Stripe’s hosted payment components (such as Stripe Elements / Payment Element) so that sensitive card details are handled directly by Stripe during checkout.
What this means for you: your full card number and security code (CVV) are not stored on ReclaimDesk servers. Instead, Stripe securely handles the payment details and returns a confirmation/result to complete your order.
Checkout traffic is protected using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). This helps protect payment and personal information while it’s transmitted between your device, our website, and our payment provider.
Stripe may use risk checks and authentication measures (such as 3D Secure) where required or appropriate. In some cases, your bank may ask you to verify the payment as part of the checkout flow.
To operate our service, we may use trusted third-party providers for specific functions. These providers may process limited personal information on our behalf strictly for delivering the service you request. Examples include:
Third-party providers may have their own privacy and security practices. We aim to only share the information necessary for them to perform the relevant service.
We want you to feel confident ordering from ReclaimDesk. This policy explains how returns and refunds work, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). This summary is provided for convenience and does not replace the ACL.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Under the ACL, consumers are generally entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if goods:
If a problem is a major failure, you are generally entitled to choose a refund or replacement. If the problem is not a major failure, we will work with you to provide an appropriate remedy (such as repair, replacement, or refund) in line with the ACL.
If you are requesting a return due to a change of mind (for example, you ordered the wrong type or changed your plans), we cannot generally accept returns of stickers
Change-of-mind returns are separate from (and do not limit) your ACL rights.
If the sticker quality or tack/adhesive performance wears out within the first 30 days of purchase under normal use , please contact us. We may request photos and basic details about the surface/material and application method so we can assess what happened and provide an appropriate remedy.
Nothing in this caveat is intended to exclude or limit any rights you may have under the ACL for faulty goods.
Where permitted by law, the following are generally not covered as “faults”:
